Concussion Assessment & Treatment
- Currently No Wait Times
We believe that treating concussion requires a thorough and individualized assessment, followed by the development of a client centred treatment plan. Kinetix patients will have access to expert, evidenced-based care for concussion and post-concussion symptoms. Our team includes specialists in physiotherapy, kinesiology, neuropsychology, physiatry, and interventional radiology. We also offer complementary options for managing functionally limiting pain (e.g., cervical impairment) if there is a mechanical focal point of the injury.
Post-Traumatic Headache Assessment
- Currently No Wait Times
Let us help you manage the complexities of post traumatic headache, one of the most frequently reported and debilitating post-concussion symptoms. At Kinetix, we provide evidenced-based headache assessment in order to develop an individualized treatment plan. Treatment may or may not include pain management interventions. The physical rehab team will work closely with our physicians to ensure adequate dosing of exercise and activity over the course of treatment. Non-pharmacological approaches will be incorporated.
Vestibular Assessment
- Currently No Wait Times
Altered balance, vertigo and dizziness are commonly reported post-concussion symptoms, which are functionally limiting and can prolong overall recovery. These symptoms are often associated with objective impairments in the central or peripheral vestibular system. At Kinetix, we provide evidence-based assessment and treatment of vestibular disorders, both as a stand-alone service or in concert with our concussion service.
Neuropsychological Assessment
- Currently No Wait Times
Cognitive symptoms, including difficulties with attention, processing speed, memory, and feeling in a mental fog, are commonly reported following concussion. Although these symptoms typically resolve with time, some patients report a persistence of symptoms. At Kinetix, we provide evidence-based neuropsychological assessment and treatment recommendations for persisting post-concussion cognitive symptoms.
Ophthalmologist Assessment and Treatment
- Currently No Wait Times
Oculomotor symptoms, including convergence and tracking difficulties, are a symptom cluster many patients report following concussion. This can affect a patient’s ability to read fluently, and some patients report experiencing headaches and fatigue triggered by visual activities. At Kinetix, we provide timely access to Ophthalmology consultation for evidenced-based assessment and treatment of persisting oculomotor symptoms.

Recovery is our goal. We will help coordinate your care, and work with ICBC wherever we can to optimize your treatment plan.
If you have suffered a concussion in a car accident, you are automatically covered by ICBC for the following visits:
– 24 physiotherapy sessions ($10 user fee per session)
– 12 kinesiology sessions ($10 user fee per session)
– 12 neuropsychology sessions ($24 user fee per session)
The user fee is due at the time of the session, (there is no user fee on your initial assessment visit) but all other fees are billed directly to ICBC.
If it has been longer than 12 weeks since the date of your car accident, you will require a GP referral for ICBC covered visits.
